Staggered Entry Days
September 5 and 6
Parents will have received an email indicating which date and time your child will come on these days. They do NOT require a snack on these days.
First Day of School
The first full day of kindergarten will be on Friday, September 8. Click here for school hours.
School Supplies
Please send your child’s school supplies on the designated day.
If their last name begins with A- G: Monday, September 11
Last name beginning with H- R: Tuesday, September 12
Last name beginning R- Z: Wednesday, September 13

At SJB, we celebrate our school spirit by wearing either SJB wear that you can purchase from the school or blue and white one Friday a month.
Jolly Phonics
All year

Our class will be starting the Jolly Phonics program at the end of this month. Jolly Phonics will help strengthen literacy skills by teaching students about the different letter sounds. Students will learn a new phonics sound in the order that the program suggests to introduce them. We will practice each sound for two days. For each new sound students will:
-Make the sound and do the action that goes along with it
- Read words out loud and discuss where that sound is located in the word
-Write the letter multiple times
Meet the Staff
Thursday, September 21, 7:00 p.m.
Come join us in the gym to meet all staff! We will finish off in the classroom sharing about the Kindergarten program. This evening is adult only due to space.
Kindergarten MDT evening, ESL night at the school
Wednesday, September 27 at 6:30 p.m.
An information evening at SJB for parents to meet with either the Multi- Disciplinary Team and ESL Designate. The MDT assists in the Kinder classrooms with Speech/ Language, Behaviour/ Anxiety and Occupational Therapy Services. The ESL Designate is available to help parents learn about services in and out of the school that help with children with additional languages.
Truth and Reconciliation Day
Friday, September 29
Children should wear an orange shirt.
